LINTy penguins
Just so I could practice linking objects, I’ve placed two penguins on coffee tables in the library building. Click on the one with orange wings and you get a link to LINT. Click on the one with purple wings and you go here, to VLINT. Click on the bookshelf to their left and you go to Libraries Australia. They all ask you to touch them. All are temporary unless someone else gets attached to them.

BrianA Corleone from Kansas Virtual Branch Library next door changed the wing colours for me, and patiently watched while I fiddled with them to get them just so. Thank you.
Curious Forager has also put some signs on the walls of the building that go to other useful Australian sites. There is one on the wall in the snapshot.
BTW. If anyone has worked out how to take a snapshot without including your av’s head in the way, I’d like to know.
To take a picture without your avatar’s head in the way, scroll forward until you are in “Mouselook”. Center the view the way you want it, and then take the snapshot using Ctrl-Shift-S. You can then use the Esc key to get out of Mouselook view.

Thank you!! I tried mouselook, but then couldn’t see the snapshot button. Glad to know the key commands now…much more interesting images are now open to me. Thanks.

Have a look at the Reuters Second Life page here: http://secondlife.reuters.com/. On the right, there’s a link that will teleport you directly to the Reuters location in Second Life, via SLURL (slurl.com). I’ve not yet investigated how it works it certainly got me straight there. Ensure you have your Second Life session open, and be patient
I’ve started poking around HealthInfoIsland, which has some extraordinary things already set up, and flying around to try and get a handle on where everything is … I am still limited by work-only access though. I promise to volunteer for more stuff once I can use it from home!!

Mmm..I think this SLURL business needs some investigating. I noticed one on the sidebar for the SL Libraries wiki also.
Healthinfo looks really good. I liked their display using book covers.
Really glad to hear your offer to volunteer. Now we just need to work out what we’re doing in there…..
