LIS workforce Australia. Who are we?
New on the ALIA pages, a survey to discover more about the Australian LIS workforce. It may take 30 minutes of your time to complete, but this will be valuable information for the profession. The project is led by Gillian Hallam.
There is considerable anecdotal evidence about the challenges facing the profession, about people leaving the sector and about the ‘greying of the profession’. Through the neXus census, the researchers seek to capture accurate data about the LIS workforce in Australia, both currently employed and retired, recent graduates embarking on a new career in LIS and students currently enrolled in LIS studies. A separate survey instrument will collect data about workforce planning initiatives and activities in individual LIS institutions. — http://alia.org.au/employment/workforce/
